Tragedy in Michoacán: Six children and their grandmother die during a fire in their home

A tragedy struck Lomas de la Aldea neighborhoodlocated east of Moreliawhere a Elderly adult and six minors lost their lives in a fire who consumed a living place Constructed of wood and sheet metal. The event took place early this Tuesday on the corner of Níquel and Matemáticos streets.

Although the exact causes of the fire are still unknown, police sources suggest that it could have been caused by an explosion due to the accumulation of gas. Neighbors alerted the rescuers and the Police when they noticed the accident, which quickly mobilized the elements of Morelia Firefighters to put out the flames and remove debris.

During the rescue efforts, the lifeless bodies of the seven victims, including six minors between 6 and 13 years of ageidentified by neighbors as Santiago, Ricardo, Tadeo, Pablo, Ángel and Roberto. The elderly adult who died was her grandmotherwho was in charge of taking care of them after the murder of the children’s mother a few months ago.

The Immediate Attention staff of the State Attorney General’s Office carried out the corresponding procedures and transferred the bodies to the Forensic Medical Service of the region.
