In Tampa, Florida, United States, the Colombian fighter died Geane Herrera, who had an accident while driving a motorcycle, as confirmed by the authorities of that country.
High speed
The police warned that the athlete was going at a “very high speed” and could not maneuver to avoid the impact.
“The security department indicated that the crash caused the motorcycle, which caught fire, to hit a fence and Geane Herrera was ejected,” said Mundo Deportivo of Spain.
“Geane Herrera (10-3-0) was born in the United States, but lived his childhood in Colombia,” the newspaper said.
And he added: “Once he and his family returned to the United States, that was when he began his career in mixed martial arts,”
It is claimed that Herrera debuted in the UFC on August 8, 2015 and lost by unanimous decision to Ray Borg.
Then he beat Joby Sánchez by TKO. Once he lost two fights in the UFC, the fighter moved to the Absolute Championship Berkut (Russian MMA organization) in which he took part in the BKFC, a company that promotes bare-knuckle boxing in the United States.
“Geane was full of life, he always tried to live life to the fullest, he was a dedicated athlete with big dreams of making a difference and leaving his mark in this world,” his family stated in GoFundMe.
Herrera was the father of a 16-year-old son and his wife is two months pregnant.
