Nogales, Sonora.- The Government of the municipality of Nogales announced that they will close the intersection of Colinas el Yaqui and Prolongación Obregón streets for motorists and the general population from February 13 to 20 due to rehabilitation works.
Jorge Medina Esqueda, head of Infrastructure, Urban Development and Ecology, recommended that motorists take alternate routes to enter the San Miguel, Haciendas, San Carlos and Colinas del Yaqui neighborhoods.
In the case of heavy cargo vehicles, the official recommended entering through El Greco Boulevard, or through the Periférico Oriente through the San Miguel neighborhood. While light vehicles will be able to circulate on Búhos street, in the Villa Sonora neighborhood.
“The works that are carried out to improve access require the pouring of concrete and the three days necessary for drying, therefore, as of next Monday, vehicular circulation through the aforementioned crossing will be closed,” explained the official in an official statement.
Given the inconvenience that these works could generate in the population, the agency asks for understanding from the citizens and to consider that upon completion of the works, access will be in excellent condition for entry to the aforementioned colonies.
The closure of the western junction will cause industrial companies to enter through Del Cid street, however, traffic will remain open permanently in the Obregón Prolongation, although with speed limitations.
