Toyota is preparing to make a major investment in South America. More precisely, in Brazil: in fact, in the coming years the Japanese giant is ready to invest around 11 billion reals, equal to 2.2 billion dollars, to strengthen its presence in the country. Maxi investment in Brazil
The indiscretion was relaunched by Brazilian Vice President and Minister of Industry Geraldo Alckmin, who added that the investments will be officially revealed at an event at the Toyota-owned site located in the city of Sorocaba, in the State of Sao Paulo. At the moment the details relating to this maxi investment are not yet known, or rather not all of them: for example, we know that approximately 2,000 jobsand that new models will be launched on the market.

According to what was reported by Reuters, which quotes the editorialist of the local newspaper O Globo Lauro Jardim in this sense, thanks to this huge investment Toyota will build a hybrid car and a SUVs at the Sorocaba plant, without however specifying more precisely which models will be involved. What is certain however is that Toyota is added to the list of car manufacturers who have decided to give credit to Brazil through more or less substantial investments: this is the case of Volkswagen, General Motors and Hyundai.
