Minister asked the PF to investigate the president’s “crime against honor” for content displayed on a website
The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Anderson Torres, asked this Wednesday (31.Aug.2022) for the opening “immediate” from police investigation to investigate the site “www.bolsonaro.com.br” per “crime against honor” from the president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The address displays criticism and satire on the Chief Executive and compares him to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
In a request sent to the Federal Police, Torres requests the “immediate initiation of a police investigation to establish the facts, in addition to any related crimes”.
Although the site has been used since 2002 to publicize Bolsonaro’s activities, the president’s campaign team identified that the domain would have been acquired by someone else this year and passed through updates to the page’s content.
“Faced with such a direct and rude attack on President Jair Bolsonaro, through a website, I requested the Director-General of the PF to immediately initiate a police investigation, for the proper investigation of the facts.”, said the minister in his profile on twitter.
The President’s Electoral HQ must present an electoral representation in the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to take the website off the air. You must also file an interpellation in the Common Court. The objective, in addition to taking down the page, is to sue the person responsible and ask for compensation.
the federal deputy Felicio Laterça (PP-RJ), PF delegate, also stated in video published on their profiles on social networks that would send a request to the TSE requesting the investigation of the content displayed on the page.
The website displays an image of Bolsonaro associated with German dictator Adolf Hitler with the phrase “Threat to Brazil”. It also features a real-time countdown to the supposed end of Bolsonaro’s government, candidate for reelection.
The content posted on the domain also includes a set of texts which criticizes, among other topics: the government’s performance during the pandemic, threats to democracy, the “authoritarian” by Bolsonaro, alleged cases of corruption, dissemination of fake newsthe actions of the Armed Forces and the questions of the Chief Executive against the electoral system.
