Edomex.- A twister surprised the population of Toluca, Mexico statethis Thursday, May 23, causing the fall of infrastructure, trees and objects in the public road.
Although initially was reported like a funnel cloud by the @SkyAlertStorm account on X (formerly Twitter), it was later confirmed that it was a tornado, originated by a storm to the west of the entity.
The meteorological phenomenon, which was close to making landfall in the area of Tres Caminos, Santa Cruz Atzcapolzaltongo, has left no victimsaccording to preliminary reports.
The Security and Protection teams, PC Firefighters and Public Services of Toluca are working in the affected areas to address the damage caused, mainly to collapsed fences, posts and roofs.
SkyAlert Storm, an account specialized in natural phenomena, indicated that the formation of this tornado is a common event under current weather conditions and assured that it does not have the potential to cause large-scale damage.
This event highlights the need to remain alert to the possibility of severe weather conditions, especially in regions susceptible to this type of phenomenon.
