Minister Dias Toffoli, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), was discharged this Sunday morning, the 21st, after undergoing surgery to correct two hernias. The judge was admitted to the Vila Nova Star Hospital, in São Paulo.
Toffoli underwent surgery this Saturday, 20th. The correction of the hernias, one direct inguinal and the other umbilical, was carried out using robotic surgery. The minister left the hospital after a routine visit from doctor Ludhmilla Hajjar. Now, the minister will continue with post-operative care at home.
“Vila Nova Star Hospital informs that the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court, José Antonio Dias Toffoli, was discharged this morning, after a routine visit by Dr. Ludhmilla Hajjar. Yesterday the minister underwent robotic surgery to correct a direct inguinal hernia, in addition to an umbilical hernia. Now he will continue with care at home”, says the medical bulletin released this Sunday.
The document is signed by Ludhmilla, who is a cardiologist and intensivist, by the chief surgeon, Antônio Luiz de Vasconcellos Macedo, and by the general director of Vila Nova Star, Pedro Loretti. The medical bulletin released on Saturday stated that the surgery had been successful.
