As its motto says, starting today, ‘We have a date’, which will run until October 2, when the 14-day cycle offered by the 28th edition of the French Film Tour concludes.
Present on this border for several years, and in its usual venue of Cinépolis Misiones, the traveling festival arrives with the best and most recent of French cinema, returning to Ciudad Juárez for two weeks of exhibition, so that each of the seven films will have showing times on two dates.
Organized by Nueva Era Films, Cinépolis, the French Embassy in Mexico and the Federation of Alliances Françaises Mexico, the tour, created in 1996, is the most important in the world for promoting French cinema; in this country alone, it visits 182 theaters in 71 cities, in addition to screenings in the cultural circuit, which is why Mexico has positioned itself as the third largest exhibitor of French cinema in the world, surpassed only by China and the United States.
Paula Graf, coordinator of the French Film Tour, said during the presentation of the event that last year 250,000 people attended, “and this year we have the goal of reaching 290,000 attendees.”
‘The Lost Painting’, a thriller based on real events, is one of the titles that will be screened during the French Film Tour, as well as the dramatic comedy ‘The President’s Wife’, starring the iconic Catherine Deneuve.
In total, border-border audiences will be able to enjoy seven films in their original language with Spanish subtitles. The cost of admission is 89 pesos per adult, with the advantage of being able to obtain a movie pass for 220 pesos, with four tickets.
Each film will be screened over two days at four different times, so there is no excuse for missing any of the films included in this carefully selected selection.
