Thwarting the smuggling of 1.5 tons of heroin in Abu Dhabi

His Excellency Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, announced that the Abu Dhabi Police had thwarted the smuggling of 1.5 tons of heroin in cooperation and coordination with the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs.
His Excellency explained that the investigations of the Abu Dhabi Police Anti-Narcotics Directorate revealed the arrival of a suspicious shipment from one of the neighboring countries to Khalifa Port in preparation for its re-export to one of the European countries.
His Excellency pointed out that as soon as the security information arrived, the Anti-Narcotics Directorate and the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs formed a joint team to monitor and inspect the suspicious shipment, which resulted in the seizure of a quantity with a market value of approximately 150 million dirhams and the thwarting of its export abroad.

He stressed that this operation is one of the most prominent and successful combat operations that enhance the strength of the security services in the emirate, and confirm their professionalism and high capabilities in confronting international gangs, noting that combating this scourge that destroys societies requires concerted efforts and the development of police capabilities constantly to keep pace with the new criminal methods, especially in light of Technological development in the modern era.
He pointed to the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to achieve the strategic goals of the wise leadership in reaching a society that enjoys security and safety throughout the country, explaining that this joint operation comes as a translation of the memorandum of understanding signed by the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police with the General Administration of Customs in Abu Dhabi, and among its provisions is the exchange of information. and experiences, which resulted in achieving the success of joint operations between the two sides.
His Excellency thanked everyone who contributed to this process, praising the efforts made and urging the combatants to redouble more efforts and perseverance in the service of the dear country.
