The Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority announced that it foiled an attempt to smuggle 8,716 kilograms of narcotic drugs.
According to what the Authority announced in its official account on the “X” platform, the frustration operation at Sharjah International Airport came after inspectors from the Sharjah Airport Customs Center at one of the airport checkpoints suspected cardboard packages belonging to a passenger arriving on an external flight to Sharjah Airport.
After the inspectors conducted a careful inspection of the packages, it was found that they contained suspicious materials, including 10,934 narcotic pills with a total weight of 8,716 kilograms, hidden in flashlights. As a result, a report of the seizure was opened and the seized items were registered and the materials were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
