From this Monday, December 2almost 6,500 new parking spaces in Madrid have dawned with their respective parking lines painted green or blue. Thus, from now on they become part of the Regulated Parking Service (SER), the management, regulation and control system for vehicle parking in the capital through payment for use through parking meters.
The new metered parking spaces are located in three neighborhoods in the district of User. Specifically, in the neighborhoods of Almendrales (2,564), Pradolongo (2,393) and Moscardó (1,502).
This measure has been adopted in response to the neighborhood demandsafter a public consultation held between June 17 and July 1, in addition to the approval in the district plenary session last July. Neighbors have shown their support for the initiative after experiencing serious difficulties parking in their neighborhoods in recent years. On the one hand, there is a high demand for parking in these areas given their proximity to Madrid Río, Matadero and commercial areas; On the other hand, in these neighborhoods there was a border effect, since further north, across the river, there have been more severe restrictions on mobility.
- Of the 2,564 places in Almond trees2,296 will be green (residents) and 268 blue (rotation). The regulated area is delimited between Manzanares Avenue, Doctor Tolosa Latour, Amor Hermoso, Mamerto López, Nicolas Usera and Marcelo Usera streets.
- In Pradolongothe 2,393 parking spaces will be distributed between 2,149 green and 244 blue. The SER in Pradolongo will be included in the perimeter of the streets of Marcelo Usera, Nicolás Usera, Amor Hermoso, Cristo de Lepanto, Cristo de la Victoria and Rafael Ybarra avenue.
- While the 1,502 new places in Moscardo They will all be for residents, and their expansion is delimited by the Paseo de Santa María de la Cabeza and the streets of Manuel Moya and Marcelo Usera.
More than 36,000 new places
With the Almeida Government, regulated parking has been extended to 15 neighborhoods in five districts at the request of the neighbors themselves. The neighborhoods that have benefited from the system are Valdezarza (Moncloa-Aravaca); Puerta del Ángel and Los Cármenes (Latina); Ventas, Colina, San Pascual, Quintana, Pueblo Nuevo, Concepción, San Juan Bautista and Atalaya (Ciudad Lineal); San Isidro (Carabanchel), and Moscardó, Almendrales and Pradolongo (Usera).
In total, they have been painted 36,664 placesof which 34,467 are for residents (green) and 2,197 for rotation (blue).
