Manhart gives the outgoing Mercedes-AMG C 63 a dignified farewell by giving it more power than the new C 63.
Both the new BMW M3 and the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 are controversial cars. The reason is just very different: the M3 has a controversial design, but the drivetrain is traditional. With the C 63 it is exactly the other way around.
As you have undoubtedly received, the C 63 is now a very heavy hybrid with a four-cylinder. That will definitely be a turn off for some people. Also for people who can actually afford one. They will probably go shopping for a nice used C 63 of the previous generation.
The disadvantage is that it is a bit slower (read: less fast). However, there is something to be done about it. For example, Manhart – originally a BMW tuner – now comes with a tuning package for the outgoing Mercedes-AMG C 63.
They are actually quite late with that, because you could of course go to competing tuners with your C 63 for much longer. Manhart knows how to give it a nice twist: they present the car as a swing-out model for the C 63 with V8. The car has therefore also been christened ‘Manhart CR700 Last Edition’.
With that you also know how much power the Manhart C 63 has: 700 hp. Actually something more: 712 hp. That is 202 more than in a standard C 63 S. The torque has also increased considerably, from 700 Nm to 920 Nm. To achieve this, the turbos and the intercooler have been upgraded.
Strangely enough, Manhart does not mention a 0-100 time, but a 100-200 time. This intermediate sprint takes a mere 5.5 seconds. That is about 3 seconds faster than with a normal C 63 of the previous generation.
The Manhart C 63 will still be able to cope with the new C 63 E Performance, even if it has more power. The new C 63 has 1,020 Nm of torque. Due to a lack of information, we cannot compare the two one-to-one, but at a traffic light sprint we bet our money on the new C 63.
In addition to the engine tuning, Manhart has some other upgrades for the C 63. You can also have Manhart downpipes installed, whether or not in combination with the removal of the catalytic converter. Furthermore, the car is equipped with an H&R coilover kit.
In terms of appearance, this C 63 is still largely standard. The only optical adjustments (besides the lowering) are the 20-inch Manhart rims and the well-known gold-coloured striping. If you like carbon tabs and the like, you should look to other tuners.
For the upgrades of manhart you have to dig deep into your pocket. Only for the Performance Kit (the motor tuning) you have already lost € 19,999. If you want the whole package, such as the car in the photos, you will arrive at about 35 grand.
