For many years, the term entrepreneur has been associated with a young person and, in recent years, with a female profile. However, it is becoming clear that this is not the case, at least in most cases. The latest data from the GEM report indicate that the person who undertakes in Aragon is male, over 45 years old, from an urban center and with an initiative oriented to consumption.
The male entrepreneurial activity rate stands at 5.7% in front of 5.2% in women and about an average of 5.4% in Aragón. A TEA of Aragon –5.4%-which is below the Spanish average, located at 6.8% in 2023, the last year analyzed in the GEM report.

Aragón is also above the Spanish average in terms of lower entrepreneurial abandonment rate. In fact, the community is one of those that registers the lowest data: 1.1%, being only behind Cantabria with 0.9%. The Spanish average is 2.2%, according to the GEM report, presented at Cepyme Aragón.
The entrepreneurial profile, although the difference is slight, is that of a man, mainly with postgraduate studies (8.4%). However, the data of those with a percentage of Primary (6.1%), Higher (5.2%) and Secondary (4.6%) studies also stands out. Regarding having specific training, the report reflects that, in general, there is no knowledge about entrepreneurship.

The GEM report also shows that entrepreneurs do not usually have employees. 52.5% indicate this. In cases where they have a staff, it stands out that 34.5% have between one and five employees. Only 2.6% have more than 20 jobs.
