Gourmet is delicious, but you don’t want to smell it the next day. How do you do that? Jet van Nieuwkerk does it like this:
Step 1. Turn on the extractor hood
Switch on the extractor hood during gourmet cooking. For example, a large part of the odor is immediately released through the extractor hood and it lingers less in your house.
Step 2. Orange with cloves
Stuff an orange completely with cloves and place it near your dining table. This gives off a wonderful fresh scent and at the same time absorbs the intense gourmet scent.
Step 3. Ground coffee
Put freshly ground coffee on the dining table. The oils released from the ground coffee dissolve all unwanted odors. You can also put this container in the fridge or freezer to neutralize any odors from your prepared Christmas dinner.
Step 4. Boil vinegar
Afterwards, put a small pan with a little vinegar on the fire. The vapors neutralize the gourmet smell. That’s much better than using air fresheners, which just mix with all the gourmet scents.
Step 5. Light Bay Leaf
By lighting a bay leaf and letting the vapors pass through the room, you quickly take away the gourmet smell. The vapors of the leaf may also help with Christmas stress. They ensure that your muscles relax and thus reduce stress and tension.
