On the afternoon of Saturday, October 19, A train without passengers overturned in a tunnel between Chamartín and Atocha, in Madrid. The accident left two employees injured maintenance and around 8,000 passengers trapped inside the carriages and at the stations.
This Sunday, October 20 railway chaos continues. Nearly 14,000 travelers both in the capital and in other parts of Spain have been seen affected by the incident. Renfe, Iryo and Ouigo have had to suspend 22 of their trips. The companies have offered alternatives to continue offering their services so that the situation harms the smallest number of people.
For now the derailed train is still trapped in the tunnel that connects the two main stations of Madrid. ABC has had access to images of the damaged railway.
