This Friday, April 1, the draw for the Qatar 2022 World Cup was held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center in the capital of the host country. The Mexican National Team already knows its fate for the World Cup: the squad led by Gerardo Martino, placed in pot 2 of the draw, will be part of Group C.
This group is made up of Argentina, Poland and Saudi Arabia. The first game of the tricolor team will be against the Polish team, then it will be measured against the Argentines, and will close its participation in the group stage against the Saudi team. The Aztec team will face Albiceleste again after facing this squad in the 2006 and 2010 editions in the round of 16.
The Mexican National Team qualified for the 2022 Qatar World Cup in second place in the CONCACAF qualifying round with 28 units. Throughout the classification, El Tri won eight games, drew four and lost only two. The Aztec team will seek to continue their good run and overcome the group stage for the eighth consecutive time. Brazil and El Tri are the only teams that have advanced this phase in the last seven cycles.
The Mexican team commanded by ‘Tata’ has a clear objective: the goal is to reach the fifth game in Qatar. The Mexican National Team has one of its best generations and will face its own history in the World Cup next December.
