New reversal in the trial of the two Scalamandrè brothers: 21 and 14 years of imprisonment for the murder of their father Pasquale
An important update arrives on the case of the crime of Pasquale Scalamandrè, killed with a rolling pin by his two children in 2020, at the height of yet another domestic dispute. The Court of Assizes of Appeal of the Court of Milan condemned the two at second instance Scalamandrè brothers to 21 and 14 years of imprisonment. How Alessio and Simone's lawyers welcomed the sentence.
It was August 10, 2020 when Pasquale Scalamandrèa 63-year-old man and former bus driver, was killed with a rolling pin in the house where until recently he had lived with his family, his wife and his two sons.
It was the two boys who committed the crime, at the height of yet another argument, Alessio and Simone. Their father had already been reported for mistreatment of the mother and children and, that day, he had reached the house to ask his eldest son to withdraw the complaint.
Today, by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Court of Milan the sentence has arrived for the two Scalamandrè brothers, which sees them condemned to 21 years of imprisonment Alessio e 14 years of imprisonment Simone. A very severe sentence if we consider that the Milan Prosecutor's Office had asked for a sentence of 11 years for the major and 8 years and 6 months for the minor.
The first degree of judgment for the two brothers arrived in February 2022, when the Court of Genoa he had sentenced them to 21 and 14 years in prison. After the appeal, in November of the same year the Court acquitted Simone and confirmed the 21 year sentence for Alessio. In the third degree of judgment, again in Genoa, the Cassation annulled both previous sentences and postponed everything to a new trial, which this time took place in Milan, with the aforementioned first degree sentence.
The lawyers of the two brothers have already announced that will appeal this further ruling and they will try to change it again.
