“After many years of negotiations and more negotiations, we received an oven and an industrial mixer, we received a sewing machine, shovels and various gardening tools, as well as threads, scissors and other necessary supplies for the Cutting and Sewing workshop.”
Needs
López Germán explained that although this support is of great help to the CAM, there are still many needs to be covered so that the workshops are fully equipped, that this is the idea and for which work will continue.
“It helps us a lot, we are really happy, but we still have many needs. Only for Cut and Sew we require at least three more sewing machines. As for the General Services workshop, we require a lot of a freezer, because we make pens and popsicles there, and for the Confectionery workshop, the truth is that we need to expand the classroom.”
The director of CAM Laboral indicated that many of the tools and supplies with which they are currently working have been acquired with the support of the parents themselves, through activities they have carried out to raise funds and also thanks to the support from the teachers themselves, who bring supplies from their homes.
“It has been us, with activities, the parents themselves and even the teachers who have made it possible to obtain the most elementary and basic so that the workshops work and the students have at least what is necessary to be able to learn a trade.”
In total, 45 students are registered and enrollment could increase because with the return to face-to-face classes, income is being reactivated.
