Fans of the world of television comedies have been waiting for years for the return of an iconic franchise, The Office, which continues to transcend generations, as there is always a new audience that joins in to watch this fake documentary about a United States office. And that leads us to the fact that a kind of reboot has been confirmed not long ago, and today they have given new news about this premiere.
Those in charge of the show, Greg Daniels and Michael Koman have revealed what the show will be about in terms of its location. Confirming that the story instead of covering a paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania, The team will edit a dying historical newspaper of the Midwest and which they will be trying to revive with volunteer reporters. This is done so that the original franchise does not try to continue, as some actors would be unwilling to revive roles.
This is what the president of NBCUniversal Entertainment, Lisa Katz Regarding the expectations of the show:
It’s been more than ten years since the final episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to gain popularity and generate new generations of fans on Peacock. In association with Universal Television and directed by the creative team of Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, this new series set in the Dunder Mifflin universe features a new cast of characters in a fresh environment conducive to comedic storytelling: a newspaper.
The series has executive producers from Daniels, Koman, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille). And the confirmed actors for now are two stars, Domhnall Gleeson from Ex Machina and Sabrina Impacciatore from The White Lotus. Added to that is that a large part of the original production team will return to create this new story, which will probably begin filming in July 2024.
Remember that you can watch the original series on platforms like Netflix. This sequel will be released in Peacock.

Author’s note: I haven’t completed the entire series yet, but what I’ve seen so far is well worth it. So I will try to finish it before they launch the reboot, which for now does not have a premiere platform in Mexico.
