The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS), dependent on the Ministry of Health, has reported of the cessation of marketing, withdrawal from the market and recovery of the lot ‘118354’ of the cosmetic product Alma Secret Waterproof and Soothing Eye Make-Up Remove as a precautionary measure.

This measure is due to The detection of a count of total aerobic and mesophilic microorganisms (Bacteria, yeasts and molds) superior to the established limits, which could involve a risk for people with health problems or with the immune system weakened.
The problem was identified during the analysis of a sample of the cited productbelonging to the lot ‘118354‘, carried out by the laboratory of biological products and biotechnology (LPBB) of the AEMPS.

The analysis results indicated that The product does not meet the established microbiological limits, considering a non -compliant result.
The sample was taken as part of the Cosmetic Product Market Control Campaign 2024-2025, called ‘Microbiological control of cosmetic products’. This campaign, carried out in collaboration with the health authorities of the Autonomous Communities, FOrma Part of the Sector Plan for the surveillance of the AEMPS market 2022-2025 and aims to verify the microbiological quality of cosmetic products currently marketed in Spain.
