The Civil Guard, within the framework of the “Dark Soul” operation, has opened an investigation against three people by the vehicle theft of half a range that had been affected by the DANA in Valencia on October 29 and its subsequent marketing by pieces in the province of Granada, where they were scrapped.
The head of the Civil Guard of Ribarroja of Turia, Alberto Herrera, explained that the cause originated with the complaint of the owner of a car of High range that had moved after the flood to a campaign. Coincidentally, this person located his vehicle in a drain from Granada.
The agents found out that the vehicle had been transferred to a scrapping of the province of Granada without the knowledge of its owner. In addition, they discovered that their pieces were being announced on the website of the Scrapace, which were being marketed for a value of 35,000 euros.

The Civil Guard opened an investigation and observed that in Granada there was a 45 vehicle lot more from the Dana and some of them already consisted of a complaint for loss or subtraction. “Then we follow a line of research to see the traceability of the cars and study if they had adjusted to the protocols of current legislation in relation to the matter of the Dana,” he said.
The company in charge of transferring the vehicles to Granada, as he said, had an agreement, that they know, with the City Council of Benetússer, to take cars to the dismantling centers of the vehicles, the Cat.
Asked about the number of vehicles that have been found from the DANA and how many complaints had been filed, the head of investigation has indicated that they have knowledge of 16 complaints and there are some 150 vehicles that are investigating. «What we are doing is getting in touch with the owners and seeing that each car has adjusted to the transfer protocol. We have to get to the end of the matter and see if the traceability has been adequate, ”he said.
“What we do know is that we are getting in touch with the owners and many of them did not know that their vehicles had been transferred to the province of Granada,” he added.

In relation to the three people investigated, the head of research has explained that they are not from Valencia and has indicated that the investigations are followed in the province of Granada.
