A shower of meteorites flew over Huelva during the early hours of this Thursday at a speed of 93,000 kilometers per hour, as reported by the Spanish Meteorite Network (SPMN) on its profile on the social network X.
According to the SPMN, it is a great southern tauridan annual meteor shower that is associated with comet 2P/Encke and that flew over Huelva and the Portuguese town of Faro and was also visible from other points in Spain, such as Cáceres or Seville.
According to the SPMN, this large taurid entered the atmosphere at 00:51 a.m. on Thursday, “reached the atmosphere at 93,000 km/h and completed its ablation without producing meteorites” that impacted the Earth’s surface.
