An animal shelter in Madrid, Spain, denounced a man posing as a veterinarian who allegedly tortured animals to sell their blood. The case is being investigated by the Móstoles Area Prosecutor’s Office.
For this reason, the Fuenlabrada Court has taken as a precautionary measure the temporary closure of the premises where these events were carried out and the prohibition of the possession and exercise of any activity that is related to animals.
According to the prosecutor, the man subjected the animals to “painful and cruel practices” to extract much or all of their blood “until causing death.” Apparently, the objective of this practice was to illegally sell the plasma of animals slaughtered in veterinary clinics in Spain and other European countries such as Italy, Belgium, France and Portugal.

Once the blood was extracted from the animals, it was transferred in portable coolers to the place where the laboratory was installed. There the blood was prepared for its later commercialization and distribution.
