A man was arrested last morning as the alleged perpetrator of the attack with sticks and bottles on several monks of the congregation of the Holy Spirit of Monte de Gilet (València), as reported by the Provincial Command of the Civil Guard.
Investigation sources have informed EFE that the man, 46 years old and Spanish nationalityis detained at the Puçol post (València), waiting to be brought to justice, expected tomorrow, Monday.
The attack occurred on Saturday morning, when the attacker entered the monastery grounds and reached the rooms of several religious, on one of the upper floors.
As other religious witnesses to what happened have explained, the aggressor entered the rooms of the religious and attacked them with sticks and a bottle shouting “I am Jesus Christ and I am going to kill the friars.”
One of the victims is in critical conditionanother in state serious and five more have been injured of various degrees, without this Sunday having yet provided any information on their hospital evolution.
