They are investigating whether the murderer of the Alcalá taxi driver stabbed him because he did not have money to pay for the ride

As this newspaper reported, the trip began in the Volkswagen Caddy, a Eurotaxi (cars specialized in transporting people with mobility problems) around six in the afternoon last Monday at the taxi rank on Avenida de los Reyes Católicos, 43. They first went to an area of ​​Espartales Sur, El Camino del Sueño, where the murderer asked them to wait a while because he had arranged to meet “a man.” But this third person did not attend the appointment and it is suspected that the arrested person wanted him to give him a sum of money.

After that failed meeting, in which Isidro would have even stopped the taximeter so as not to charge him more, the teenager told him to take him to the Príncipe de Asturias hospital in Alcalá, where, when stopping in the emergency parking lot, Isidro told him the amount of the service. This is captured in the images from the taxi’s interior camera, which recorded the entire sequence.

At that moment, from the back seat, the minor took out a knife from the dark coat he was wearing and stabbed the worker five times, in the chest and, above all, the abdomen. Isidro tried to defend himself, hence his injuries to his hand. His liver burst and he died in the ICU of the same hospital the next morning.

The murderer managed to flee and, according to police sources, it does not appear that he stole money from the taxi; Everything indicates that, finding himself without money to pay for the race and in an area as busy as the entrance to a hospital, he had no other idea than to kill Isidro in such a savage manner. Before, he wanted to mislead the taxi driver pretending to open his walletwith the victim turned backwards. There wasn’t even a fight between the two, there was no time.

While the suspect fled the crime scene, Isidro got out of the taxi as best he could, asking for help. Some doctors who were at the door assisted him and he was admitted to the ICU, where he died the next morning. The minor hid in his family’s home, until his prompt arrest by Homicide Group VI of the Madrid Judicial Police Brigade.

Now, he will be subjected, among other tests, to a psychological evaluation. One of the extremes that is investigated is whether, as it seems, he has problems with drugs. What is clear is that he does not belong to any youth gang, police sources insist. But also that he is a problematic individual with a history of other violent acts, although logically not of this caliber.

That night the Police received a call from the defendant’s mother’s mobile phone to report him. But the investigators already had more than identified him and a large operation was set up to hunt him down. He is of Spanish nationality, like his entire family.

After being arrested on Wednesday night at his family’s home, in the La Corrala building, in Espartales, he admitted being the author of the crime, although upon arriving at the police facility he did not want to testify further. He faces, at most, eight years of confinement in a juvenile center, the maximum punitive measure for murder for a 16-year-old person.
