New urban bus lines in Zaragoza. The new map contemplates the implementation of two circulars, the 24 C1 Express and the 24 C2 Expresswhich will enter service from February 2025.
These two lines will follow a route similar to that of the current 24, although they will allow expand the route and coverage area with the improvement of the connection of at least eight neighborhoods of Zaragoza and the Delicias train station and passenger transport buses.
These circulars will have a frequency of six minutes and it is estimated that they could transport between 22,000 and 25,000 people a day.
The implementation of these changes in urban mobility in Zaragoza will have the character of pilot test. In fact, it is a first step to adapt the network to the growth of Zaragoza in recent years and future expansion.
In this way, it is decided to better connect the Delicias Intermodal Station, due to the growth experienced in supply and rail traffic in recent years, apart from responding to the needs of the Left Bank residential developmentsin areas such as Barrio de Jesús and the entire surroundings of Paseo de la Ribera with these two circular lines.
The new lines will also allow better connect other neighborhoods of Zaragoza such as Las Fuentes, San José, Arrabal, Old Town, Delicias, Universidad or La Almozara, apart from facilitating the connection of the station with the Old Town, as well as with the Left Bank of Zaragoza in both directions.
As to line 38, action is being taken to extend it to provide more service to Valdefierro and other areas such as the Clinical Hospital, University, Puerta del Carmen or Paseo Pamplona. According to the plans, it will share a route, in its final core, with line 36. In both cases, the current frequencies will be maintained. The forecast is that the number of potential beneficiaries will increase by 25%.
This new map will also facilitate connection with other lines of the urban bus network such as 35, 53, 33, 32, 21 or 42, as well as the transshipment –also free for the bus-, with the tram.
