Although there are still a couple of days left before the film of Uncharted is released, several reviews of this long-awaited adaptation have begun to be published today. As expected, the reception has not been positive, and Tom Holland’s new work has a 44% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, at the moment only nine reviews have been published on this site, so this rating could well go up, or down, as the days go by. For some, the recreations of video games are some of the most striking sections. while for others, the decal of Naughty Dog’s work is just what stops the potential of this project.
This was what THN commented:
“Most of its best moments are recreations of the games, and even then it takes some time for the sequences to provide a sense of fun akin to grabbing a controller.”
On the other hand, this was what Film Stories mentioned:
“When it embraces the potential to be goofy and spectacular, it’s an absolute delight.”
For its part, this was what Digital Spy commented:
“Uncharted ends with no particular character and recycles beats we’ve seen in better movies of the same genre.”
Uncharted will hit theaters on February 17, 2022. On related topics, this tape has a cameo from the games. Similarly, Tom Holland played Uncharted 4, and the result was not positive.
Editor’s Note:
This reception was to be expected. Like many other video game adaptations, it seems that Uncharted it ends up being just a carbon copy of some of the events created by Naughty Dog. However, it remains to be seen with our own eyes how good, or bad, the tape is.
