Yesterday, Saturday, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned of a new health crisis.
Ghebreyesus said after the week-long World Health Assembly meeting in Geneva: “The decision to conclude an agreement on epidemics during the next year shows the strong and urgent desire of countries to do so, because the next pandemic is a matter of time.”
On the last day of the week-long World Health Assembly meeting in Geneva, members of the World Health Organization extended a deadline of up to one year until next year’s meeting in order to reach agreement on a historic global agreement aimed at dealing with future epidemics.
