Netflix has confirmed that the fifth season Of The Witcher it will be the season the final and that the fourth and fifth seasons will be filmed in parallel.
Netflix also confirmed that seasons 4 and 5 will adapt the remainder books by Andrzej Sapkowski, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and The Lady of the Lake. However, it is not known how the show will deal with the recasting of the role of Geralt, now played by Liam Hemsworth.
The fourth season will consist of eight episodes in total and will be directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (4×01 and 4×02), Tricia Brock (4×03 and 4×04), Alex Garcia Lopez (4×05 and 4×06) and Jeremy Webb (4×07 and 4×08).

“It is with enormous pride that we begin filming the penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” said showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. “We're thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski's books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn't be our show if we didn't push our family of characters to the absolute limit – stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
Speaking of the story, Geralt's voice actor doesn't understand some choices in the Netflix series.
