White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Russia appears to be continuing preparations for a full-scale “invasion” of Ukraine soon. This is stated in her statement, published on the official website administration.
According to her, if Russia decides to “attack” Ukraine, Washington is ready to take quick and tough measures. At the same time, Psaki noted that the United States is always ready for diplomacy. The press secretary of the American president did not cite any evidence of Russia’s preparations for the alleged “invasion”.
Earlier, Psaki also confirmed that US President Joe Biden agreed to meet with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Europe. She clarified that the summit would take place “if there is no “invasion” of Ukraine.”

Over the past few months, Kiev and Western countries have been accusing Russia of pulling troops to the borders of Ukraine and preparing a military offensive. Moscow has repeatedly denied the existence of such aggressive plans. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, NATO’s statements about the impending “invasion” are alarmist.
On February 20, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the situation on the line of contact in the Donbass was escalated to the maximum. “Any spark, any unplanned incident or any small planned provocation can lead to irreparable consequences,” he warned. Peskov also stressed that against such a background, the dates announced in the West about the alleged “invasion” of Russia in Ukraine threaten with bad consequences.
