VisionLab, the Spanish optics chain, has just launched the Visionlab Kümer Ia glasses, a proposal that based on artificial intelligence manages to customize the glasses lenses to the maximum.
The key to these glasses is in its technology, Kümer Ia, developed by IoT (Indizen Optical Technologies), initiative born of the Complutense University of Madrid. They have managed to integrate advanced algorithms that analyze both biometric data and the life habits of more than 70,000 clients. That way they can design a unique lens for each individual.
The customization process begins in Visionlab stores, where they give you a tablet with a digital assistant that guides the user through a detailed questionnaire. Information about lifestyle, use of devices, daily activities and even usual visual discomforts are collected. All this, together with the graduation, feeds the algorithm to create a unique “visual profile.”
Once designed, the lens is carved with millimeter precision at the VisionLab facilities in Madrid, ensuring that the final product is exclusive.
In our tests, the glasses ia visionlab kümer ia stood out for how easy we adapt to them. Although in Visionlab they told us that it had been adapting to new lenses for a while, with the Kümer Ia that period has been practically zero. The benefits we have noticed are clearer and stable vision, comforting comfort, broader vision fields, after all, a real customization, instead of being a generic model.
Although the Kümer Ia are pioneers in Spain, they are not alone in the market. Products such as Varilux XR Series or Big Vision for All offer similar benefits, although VisionLab’s proposal stands out for national manufacture and biometric data integration. The price, which ranges between 300 and 1,200 euros according to graduation, may seem high, but for progressive lenses, the difference is not so significant with respect to traditional options.
The visionlab kümer Ia glasses are an important advance in the optical sector. We tried them two months after its launch, and at least, in the optics in which we were, they had quickly become the best selling glasses.
