The world of Italian and international jazz music is in mourning for the disappearance of a famous one singer from Treviso. Valeria Bruniera is deada few weeks after the diagnosis of a cancer that gave her no escape. The woman died in the night between Saturday and Sunday: she leaves Paolo Borghi, her husband and lifelong partner, famous for wearing the blue jersey in the high jump.
There sudden death of Valeria Bruniera shocked the whole community of Treviso. She was a famous jazz singer who died of a tumor that had recently been diagnosed by doctors. Unfortunately, her battle could not even begin.
The singer had studied classical music and modern music and for five years also lyric singing, at the “Malipiero” music school in Biadene, followed by the teacher Erika Baechi. He also attended jazz singing courses at the Blue Note School, followed by Enrica Bacchia.
In 1994 the jazz singer had won the edition of Global Rhythms with the world-music group “Antilabè”. Two years later, however, he had published the album of unreleased songs Dedalo. In 2012 the cd Songs with the double bass was released, together with the double bass player Filippo Tantino from Treviso. And years later a CD for solo piano with voice entitled “Be my love” with Giacomo Li Volsi, pianist.
Valeria Bruniera also obtained in 2012 the II level University Diploma (Jazz two-year period) at the “Buzzolla” Conservatory of Adria in the course “Jazz, Improvised Music and Music of Our Time”, with the teacher Diana Torto.

Valeria’s death shocked the whole world of jazz music: in recent years she had collaborated with many other artists. She had also taught modern singing at the Pio X College in Treviso, at the Sapore della Musica in Fonderia and at Istrana.
The friends, heartbroken by pain, cling to her husband Paolo Borghi, a former blue in the high jump who had also beaten the record for the junior category.
