Manuel Neuer, the goalkeeper of the German national football team, expressed his overwhelming happiness with the warm welcome the team received from the fans, upon its arrival in Herzogenaurach, the team’s headquarters for the European Nations Championship “Euro 2024” yesterday, Friday.
Nearly two thousand fans gave the team a warm welcome, despite the rain, during an event organized by Adidas, the company that supplies sports equipment to the team, nicknamed the Machines.
Neuer said: “The reception was amazing. Many people came to a small stadium and welcomed us very warmly in this difficult weather. This heralds an atmosphere of joy in the Euro Championship.”
Julian Nagelsmann, coach of the German national team, and the players took souvenir photos with the fans and gave them their autographs.
“It’s great to have all of you here,” Neuer told the fans, as he threw them shirts.
The German national team will play in the tournament, which will be held from June 14 to next July 14 at home, and will begin its campaign against the Scottish national team on June 14 in Munich.
Before the Euro competitions, the German national team will play two friendly matches against Ukraine next Monday, and against Greece on June 7.
