Since its first presentation to the world in Barcelona in December 2023, the immersive experience of ‘Tomorrowland’ has welcomed more than 40,000 visitors from 56 countries who have enjoyed an unprecedented virtual reality experience and have immersed themselves in the magical universe of one of the most charismatic festivals in the world. Now it is Madrid’s turn, which hosts this spectacular proposal at the Wizink Center until next January 12.
Designed for audiences of all ages, Tomorrowland’s immersive experience offers attendees an unforgettable 45-minute journey through cutting-edge technology. Starting down memory lane through twenty years of Tomorrowland history, visitors will have the opportunity to learn one of the largest and most iconic festivals in the world. Various digital installations then allow you to explore some of the key characteristics, values and objects of the musical event, and gain an initial insight into Tomorrowland’s DNA, before walking within the mythical realms of the festival with the experiences ‘Planaxis’, ‘The Book of Wisdom’ or ‘The Elixir of Life’, which propose a unique and unprecedented virtual reality experience.
The Tomorrowland immersive experience has been created and developed by the Tomorrowland and XR Music Hub teams (formed by Layers of Reality and Blanco y Negro Music), two companies with totally different profiles, but together they have created something absolutely new and unique, with latest generation technology. Jordi Sellas, artistic director of Layers of Realitystates: “Bringing the Tomorrowland immersive experience to Madrid has been a milestone in our scalability plans, especially considering that the capital of Spain has a vibrant cultural and entertainment scene, and the Tomorrowland immersive experience stands out as one of the best immersive experiences available today.
As Sellas explains, it is an experience “in a giant metaverse format with a huge size of 600 square meters, the largest in Spain and one of the largest in Europe, and a spectacular duration of more than 45 minutes within a wonderful and magical world that Tomorrowland has been able to create in its two decades of history. In the director’s opinion, the space of the Crystal Room of the Wizink Center “is perfect for its connection with music and with the world of art in general, and with the world of entertainment. There, attendees will be able to experience a unique day, which fans of the festival will really like, but opening the range to an audience that, without having ever been, will find this experience fascinating.
The Tomorrowland festival is held annually in the Belgian town of Boom (Flanders, Belgium), it is organized by We Are One World (Manu Beers & Michiel Beers), and it is estimated that more than 400,000 people of almost 200 different nationalities attend each edition. . It also has offices in other cities around the world such as Sao Paulo (Brazil) or Atlanta (United States), and in winter it organizes Tomorrowland Winter in the idyllic French high mountain setting of Alpe d’Huez.
