The Minister of Infrastructure has considered that it is an “obligation” of the Generalitat to provide this metro service again and put it “as soon as possible.”
The DANA destroyed the facilities Metrovalencia central stations, in València Sud, although on November 14 it was possible to resume the tram service after preparing a new command post in the Machado workshops, which has already been used by 286,062 people, as explained yesterday by the Metrovalencia spokesperson. Consell, Susana Camarero.
In a second phase, the objective is to recover the circulation of lines 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9 of Metrovalencia, except in the most damaged section that runs between València Sud and Castelló, which is expected to be able to reopen throughout 2025.
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat is currently working on the conditioning of the new command post and on the fine-tuning in the Machado workshops of the 62 units that make up the mobile fleet of metro lines, of which 27 suffered damage from DANA and they left those available at 35.
As an alternative to the Metrovalencia network, and until the service is recovered, the Generalitat has enabled bus racers to facilitate mobility and connection of the different neighborhoods and towns near the Valencian capital.
