The United States Government has announced the beginning of an investigation into an attempted infiltration by hackers “associated with China” into mobile phones used by the Republican candidate for the White House and former president of the country, Donald Trump, and his candidate for the Vice President, JD Vance.
In a joint statement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) confirm the launch of an operation to clarify the exact circumstances of the “unauthorized access to commercial telecommunications infrastructure by actors affiliated with the People’s Republic of China.”
Once the attempt was known, both agencies “They immediately notified the affected companiesprovided technical assistance and quickly shared information to help other potential victims.”
