RIA Novosti: it is not yet clear how the terrorist attack at Crocus will affect US aid to Ukraine
The United States assessed the prospects for further assistance to Ukraine after the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. As the source stated RIA News in Congress, it is not yet clear whether the attack will have an impact on funding approval.
The agency's interlocutor recalled that Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a draft resolution to remove Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson from office in connection with the proposed budget proposal, which included the allocation of funds for Kyiv.
“Honestly, it's hard to say. Republican Greene has threatened to move forward with a motion to remove her if the Ukraine funding bill comes to a vote,” the source said.
He added that in this matter, the question of a possible change in the Speaker of the House of Representatives is of primary importance.
Earlier, Mike Johnson promised not to delay the provision of tens of billions of dollars in aid to Kyiv in April. As the Associated Press clarified, the speaker needs to decide how strongly he is willing to push for approval of a new aid package when his leadership within Congress is under threat.
