CNN: General Milley ordered the creation of a report on the military interaction between the US and China
The head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, ordered the creation of a comprehensive report on the military interaction between the US and Chinese military forces over the past five years. This is reported CNN citing three Defense Department officials.
According to them, the Pentagon will conduct an analysis in order to obtain a complete picture of the interactions of the armed forces of the two countries, especially those that may be “unsafe” or “unprofessional.” The channel notes that Chinese ships and aircraft, for example, sometimes operate “too close” to important American installations.
“China has been on the rise economically and militarily for more than a decade. He became more daring in the Pacific,” Milley said. The interlocutors of the broadcaster emphasized that Milli intends to keep an eye on any changes in China’s military activity, as well as to have a full understanding of the issue of China’s military capabilities and intentions.
Earlier, the head of the press service of the State Department, Ned Price, threatened China with consequences for helping Russia. He noted that a possible circumvention of anti-Russian sanctions or the provision of weapons to Moscow would cost the Chinese side dearly. At the same time, he stressed that, to date, Washington does not see Beijing being involved in “any systematic circumvention” of anti-Russian sanctions.
