The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes: Anime Factory reveals two official clips in Italian
The two official clips in Italian of The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes are available on the Anime Factory YouTube channel
Milan, 27 May 2024 – Less than three weeks before arriving in cinemas, Anime Factoryproperty label by Plaion Pictures which includes the best of anime, cinema and home video offerings, is happy to reveal to the public two official clips in Italian of the award-winning anime film The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes. The new film, written and directed by Tomohisa Taguchi (Akudama Drive, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War), will arrive at the cinema in Italy in a special three-day event, the 10, 11 and 12 June 2024.
The two clips, in which it is possible to witness not only the first meeting between the two protagonists Anzu and Kaoru but also the first entry of the latter into the exciting and mysterious Urashima tunnel, are available on the Anime Factory YouTube channel:
The high artistic value of this sci-fi mystery story with romantic tones also stands out from the clips, among whose strong points there is certainly the mix between the authenticity of the protagonists’ lives and the attention to detail – in particular for the hair and the depth of the eyes. The credit for the surprising final result goes largely to the animator Satomi Yabuki (Tokyo Ghoul; Pompo, the cinephile), responsible for character design and lead animation supervisor.
Reproducing, even visually, the many nuances of the story was one of the main missions of director Tomohisa Taguchi, who appreciated the original novel’s ability to combine a refreshing lightness with very profound themes. “The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes was born as a light novel. They are very accessible reads, but this novel has a very literary aspect, more constructed and profound,” declared the director. Taguchi paid particular attention to portraying the two protagonists in a genuine way, making it easy for the audience to identify with them. As he explains: “Since the scenes of everyday life are realistic, a precise staging is needed to be respected: this was a challenge for me and we worked with the animators to recreate the sense of reality.”
Made by Japanese animation studio CLAP (Pompo, the cinephile), The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes has won the favor of the public and critics by winning some of the most prestigious awards dedicated to the world of animation, such as the Paul Grimault Award at Annecy Festival 2023 and recognition as best film at the 2024 Anime Trending Awards.
The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes is ready to conquer the Italian public thanks to Anime Factorywhich will bring this exciting and engaging feature film to the cinema with an unmissable event from 10 to 12 June.
