The Ministry of Finance has announced that does not plan to tax energy companies to make investments in decarbonization, despite having agreed with ERC, Bildu and BNG an hour before that they were going to extend the tax on these companies for another year.
Specifically, the department led by María Jesús Montero wanted to clarify “which maintains its agreement with Junts to not tax energy companies to maintain their effective investment commitment for decarbonization”.
However, an hour before, ERC, Bildu and BNG had announced the Government’s commitment to extend the energy tax via decree, in exchange for saving the global minimum tax of 15% on multinational companies that Brussels demands and that has finally managed to exceed the procedure in committee.
The Government’s commitment also includes a promise to approve the bank tax in its processing of the multinational tax bill, which will pass its committee process this Tuesday and go to the plenary session on Thursday.
The promises of the Executive, which now have to materialize, have occurred at the end of this Monday due to the possibility of the decline of the draft law on the tax on multinationals, which was born as a European Directive demanded by Brussels and on which it depends a disbursement of 11,000 million euros of European funds
