The myth of an expensive life abroad was dispelled in a conversation with Moslenta by the traveler, photographer and documentary filmmaker Alexander Fedorov. He compared life in Russia to Turkey, which he says is much cheaper.
“Of course, everything will be more expensive in tourist centers. The most expensive here, I think, are Istanbul and Antalya. But there is a way out – just don’t live there,” Fedorov said.
The traveler also noted that he once paid about $ 600 a month for car rental, but you can find options and much cheaper if you take the car away from cities full of tourists. A house in the mountains about an hour’s drive from the coast will cost 300-350 dollars a month, and it is more profitable to buy groceries in local markets.
“For example, a kilogram of tomatoes costs ten lira, that is, 34 rubles. And by the way, they are very tasty. And you can buy a local dish that is somewhat reminiscent of shawarma. It is called chig-kefte. It costs the same, ”said Alexander.
Earlier, the political scientist compared Moscow with other megacities. The political scientist especially singled out the availability of taxis, shops and restaurants in Moscow these days and recalled that in the USSR it was possible to get to a good restaurant only “through pull”.
