The surprise return

The Superbike will return to the track on the weekend from 14 to 16 June for the first of the two rounds scheduled this year in Italy, more precisely in Misano Adriatico, but in the meantime a surprise official announcement has arrived for the blue fans: from 2025in fact, we will witness the return to the track of a historic tricolor house, that is Bimota.

The partnership with Kawasaki

All this will happen thanks to a collaboration with Kawasakiwhich will supply the engines for the Ninja ZX-10RR, the latter with a frame however produced by the Rimini company, founded in 1966. Consequently the motorbike will be built jointly, but in addition to this Kawasaki will transfer part of its personnel to the Bimota racing program , whose team will take the official name of Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team.

Successes in Superbike

Thus, a historic reality that participated in the first Superbike World Championship in 1988, winning seven races that season: five with Davide Tardozzi and two with Stephane Martens. Successes that were also repeated at Phillip Island in 2000in that case with Anthony Gobert who crossed the finish line ahead of everyone in the wet: “Bimota has a reputation for excellence in motorcycle design and manufacturing – he has declared Hiroshi Ito, President and CEO of Kawasaki Motors – As part of our vision for the evolution of this globally renowned brand we see competitions as the logical next step both in terms of product development and visibility of the brand on the world stage.
