The Supreme Court judge asks for the Prosecutor’s Office cameras to know who García Ortiz spoke to during the search of his office

The judge of the Supreme Court, Ángel Hurtado, has asked to find out if the State Attorney General spoke with his number two, the lieutenant prosecutor of the Supreme Court, in the central courtyard of the Attorney General’s Office during the police searches on October 30. The investigating magistrate asks to preserve the images of the security cameras of the central patio of the building between six and eight in the afternoon after the popular accusation of the APIF denounced that a prosecutor, Salvador Viada, could see both speaking during the registering and manipulating, according to their version, a mobile phone.

Judge Hurtado sent the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard to both the Attorney General’s Office and its provincial department in Madrid on October 30. The objective was to collect all the messages, emails and communications from the attorney general and the provincial prosecutor of Madrid since March to look for evidence about the leak of the emails from Alberto González Amador’s lawyer with the Public Ministry.

The search continued for more than ten hours with the agents copying the information on the spot while Álvaro García Ortiz remained in the building accompanied by a small group of collaborators. Shortly after one of the accusations in the case, the Professional and Independent Association of Prosecutors (APIF) reported that someone had seen García Ortiz talking in the patio of the building with the lieutenant prosecutor of the Supreme Court and, supposedly, manipulating a mobile phone.

According to this association, APIF leader Salvador Viada was able to see Álvaro García and the lieutenant prosecutor of the Supreme Court around seven in the afternoon “in the noble hall of the State Attorney General’s Office – specifically, in the space located next to a work of the navigator Juan de la Cosa – checking a mobile phone apparently belonging to the well-respected investigator.”

The instructor has agreed to study this matter and, for the moment, ask the building security to preserve the images corresponding to that day and that time of the afternoon in “the cameras that focus on the noble room located in the central patio of the building , until, on the part of this Instructor, something else is agreed.”
