The State Duma Committee has prepared a draft law on a day off on the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity on July 8
The State Duma has prepared a bill establishing a new holiday in Russia on July 8 in honor of the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. Nina Ostanina, head of the family committee, spoke about this during a meeting of the expert council, reports RIA News.
“If this is a family holiday, then it should be held in the family circle, so we proposed to make this day a day off,” she said.
Ostanina suggested that the Duma Council would support the committee’s proposal.
On June 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing July 8 as the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. According to the document, the holiday is aimed at the spiritual and moral education of children and youth, as well as the preservation of traditional family values.
Earlier, the Ministry of Labor said that in 2023 the New Year holidays will last nine days: from December 31 to January 8. In addition, the Russians will rest from February 23 to 26, and in May – the first day and from the sixth to the ninth.
