The Spanish economy showed its best face last year, in a context marked by global uncertainty, in which it grew well above the eurozone average and was able to overcome the effects of the crisis that hits the two engines in the region , Germany and France. GDP grew 3.2% in the year as a wholethanks to the fact that the activity maintained its strength in the final stretch of the year. Between October and December it advanced 0.8% in relation to the previous quarter and accelerated to 3.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
That growth of 3.2% in the accumulated of the year was possible thanks to the stretch of national demand (of public and private consumption and investment), which contributed 2.8 points to growth, a point more than the previous year. While, The effects of cooling in the Eurozone, where our main business partners are found, made a dent in external demandwhich contributed four tenths to that growth, six less than in 2023. The value of GDP at current prices for the set of 2024 stood at more than 1,593 billion euros, 6.3% above a year earlier.
“The data we have known today reflect the strength and balanced growth of the Spanish economy, which day after day are being corroborated by the main national and international organizations,” they argue from the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Company.
