The National Chemistry Reference Center of Cartagena, dependent on the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF), will teach 74 free courses in two years to train more than a thousand unemployed in the professional profiles required by the industrial area of Cartagena.
These actions, which last between 90 and 640 hours, will provide specific training to respond to the needs of motor companies such as Navantia, Repsol, Ilboc or Sabic and their auxiliary industry, according to the Community.
Eighteen of the 74 courses will address the contents of the specialty ‘Organization and control of non-destructive tests’, which will allow their students to learn techniques such as industrial radiography or ultrasound, used to evaluate the quality of metal joints.
Another of the specialties is that of ‘Manufacture and assembly of industrial piping installations’. In addition to theoretical training, the course offers 80 hours of internships in companies in the sector. These two specialties are necessary for the construction of the S-80 submarines, which is why these technicians are in high demand.
