Cole becomes the target of Sub-Zero, a formidable assassin from Outworld who has been sent by the sorcerer Shang Tsung to eliminate Earthrealm’s champions before they can compete in the tournament. In his search for answers and protection for his family, Cole joins a group of fighters who also bear the mark of the dragon: Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sonya Blade and Jax.
Guided by the mysterious and powerful Lord Raiden, the champions must train to unlock their latent abilities and prepare to face the powerful warriors of Outworld. As the final confrontation approaches, Cole and his allies must learn to work together to survive and prevent Shang Tsung and his henchmen from conquering Earthrealm.
