The Civil Guard tried yesterday without success with trained dogs
The residents of Traspinedo (Valladolid) had to provisionally suspend the raid organized yesterday afternoon on the outskirts of the town to search for Esther López de la Rosa, the 35-year-old neighbor who disappeared between January 12 and 13 ( Wednesday and Thursday of last week), after the Civil Guard informed them of its intention to mobilize a unit of canine guides with dogs trained to search for people, which arrived that same afternoon from its base in Zamora to immediately start a first scan. “Dogs need space to carry out these tasks in good conditions and that is why it was requested that there not be a hunt at the same time, regardless of whether it is convenient – one has been called today, starting at four in the afternoon – to avoid risks if it is not organized and coordinated by the agents”, sources from the Benemérita explained yesterday.
The agents, once the first search with dogs, in which they were accompanied by a small group of relatives, finished without clues, plan to incorporate a helicopter into the search work, whose arrival is scheduled for today morning, in order to subsequently organize a formal raid around the intersection of the Soria highway with the road that leads to the town, in the vicinity of the La Maña restaurant and the El Romeral urbanization, where the testimonies of the woman’s friends, with whom She was there until her disappearance at dawn on the 13th, they place her for the last time.
Statement taking
The family of Esther López de la Rosa formally denounced her disappearance last Monday, the 17th, four days after they lost track of her when they initially understood that she could have left voluntarily, although the passing of days and the absence of news about their whereabouts led them to go to the Civil Guard. That same day the investigations and interrogations of the woman’s friends began, with whom she was on the night of the 12th in a local bar to watch a soccer game (Real Madrid against Barcelona in the Super Cup). .
From those first statements an initial clue emerged that suggested that Esther could have subsequently gone to Valladolid with an acquaintance, although this line of investigation has lost strength in the absence of evidence that said trip took place. The subsequent interrogations of the friends now point to the fact that the woman, as they themselves explained to the neighbors who participated in the unsuccessful raid on Tuesday, was last seen at the doors of the La Maña restaurant, located on the edge of the N -122, where a friend would have left it. That would have happened already at dawn, on the 13th, when his mobile phone was disconnected. And he did not give a signal again, as confirmed yesterday by sources of the investigation, relatives and neighbors.
So the search for Esther will focus in the next few hours on that environment, that of the aforementioned restaurant, surrounded by pine forests on the edge of the Soria road (National 122) and four kilometers from the urban center of Traspinedo, where Esther resides with His parents. There, the canine guides focused yesterday on the search for the 35-year-old woman, who inspected wells, a swimming pool and other points without finding a trace of her whereabouts.
The City Council has summoned the residents to a new raid this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in a large device that will be coordinated by the Civil Guard and that will start from the Tuduero industrial estate, an area close to the one that agents have already tracked today with the canine unit. In a statement issued tonight, the Traspinedo Town Hall encourages all residents to participate and to keep “hope alive in finding Esther.” “We will not stop looking for her until we find her well,” they add.
