Galaxy Unpacked Summer 2024: Samsung’s possible announcements

Samsung holds various events throughout the year, but the two that attract the most attention are those dedicated to its flagship smartphones and wearables. At the beginning of the year the company announced the new Galaxy range, generally leaving the leaflets for the summer. This time, however, the company’s mid-year event is also expected to feature several other key products and updates, as well as a new wearable device. Now, thanks to insider Alvin’s post, we can give a recap of what we already expected from Galaxy Unpacked Summer 2024.

As already mentioned, Samsung will most likely hold its highly anticipated event on July 10th and the venue will be Paris, France. This is not the first time this date has emerged, as numerous reports have indicated that the mid-summer event will be held in early July, the same month as the Paris 2024 Olympics, of which the tech giant will be the main sponsor.

Among the announcements, the new generation of Samsung foldables is obvious Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, which should have a renewed design. The Fold 6 will have a more squared appearance, abandoning the classic rounded corners. The Flip 6, on the other hand, is expected to have a redesigned, thinner hinge mechanism. The external display will be smaller this time, as the company is returning to the folder-type display. Internally, both devices will have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips and improved camera sensors.

In addition to the foldable devices, Samsung will also announce new ones Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, which will include many features similar to those of the Apple Watch. The economical Galaxy Watch FE variant will probably also be revealed. Another product highly anticipated by users is the first smart ring of the company. The Galaxy Ring will offer advanced health features and sports capabilities similar to the Oura smart ring.

Finally, Samsung will probably take some time to announce the new ones Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro with design changes and updates for a better fit. Given the number of wearables expected at Unpacked this year, we expect the event to focus heavily on AI integrations, but will also be health-focused. We are still awaiting official confirmation of the event date from Samsung, which seems to want to raise the prices of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 and use the Olympics as a stage.
