He continued: “We declare that in the coordinating framework we stand with the people in defending the rights of citizens, the legitimacy of the state, the political process, the constitution and all its legal outputs, and we defend them with all we can.. Everyone who has an opinion or a project to amend the constitution is available through the constitutional frameworks.. and any work Otherwise, it crosses all red lines and threatens civil peace and the rule of law, and opens the door wide to the corrupt who have seized the people’s money and plundered the state.”
The heavily fortified green zone in the capital witnessed Yesterday, Saturday, thousands of supporters of the Sadrist movement stormed Baghdad, declaring a sit-in inside the parliament headquarters, as an expression of their refusal to nominate Mohammed Al Sudani as prime minister.
As the situation escalated, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi delivered a speech in which he held the political blocs responsible for the escalation, and demanded that they give priority to the language of dialogue and make concessions to overcome the crisis.
An unknown group, identifying itself as the “Organizing Committee to Support Legitimacy and Preserving State Institutions”, went out today to call for counter-demonstrations tomorrow, Monday, in front of the Green Zone.
In a statement, the committee said: “We call on our Iraqi people, with all their spectrum, clan, academic and cultural activities, to mobilize to demonstrate peacefully to defend their state.”
